Digital workplace team skills mapping

We developed the Spark Trajectory Intranet and Digital Workplace skills matrix as a tool to assess your and your team’s competencies. It’s free to use.

But sometimes teams need a more structured approach or a little help to get the best out of the matrix. We offer remote and on-site options to map your team’s skills. Everyone involved receives an individual, personalised report to help plan their onward professional development.  We’ll help make everyone an intranet and digital workplace pro and help your team perform better, together.

We get it

Intranets and digital workplaces need a wide range of skills to deliver successfully. Sometimes it isn't clear who does what, where the boundaries of responsibility lie or whether you need to develop your people for that next big challenge.

This is what we do

In 2018 we launched the skills matrix – still the only skills framework aimed at intranet and digital workplace professionals – based on our deep understanding of the industry and the people in it. We created it to give practitioners a vocabulary to explore their skills. We provide the model as an open source gift to the sector, and it's been used in dozens of organisations to help explore team development and dynamics.

How it works

We'll kick off with a discussion with the client to understand the context and development goals for the team. Then we'll speak to each member of the team about their current role, their career history and their aspirations. Finally, we'll ask each member of the team to fill out a survey to self-diagnose the skills they have and the skills they want to develop in.

We'll analyse all of the survey data and interview notes and provide each team member with an individual report, as well as a summary report with our recommendations.

Just get in contact and we can give you a demonstration of the skills mapping process and show you how it works. If you'd like to go ahead we'll issue you with a statement of work and we can start as soon as we've got a signature.
